About

This is a course for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS’s) personnel or anyone who maybe first on scene like team leaders and potential first responders. Training will include: Managing patients in rural & urban setting, awareness and insight into water-related disasters, scene safety, primary & secondary survey, spinal injuries, topography, hydrology and river dynamics. You will learn how to perform a complete patient assessment, spinal immobilisation, focussed spine assessment (FSA), improvised techniques and improvised patient transport. Person safety (PPE), safety of the victim and water rescue equipment. Skills lab and scenarios will be created to practice the skills learned and ensure proper knowledge and implementation of the new skills acquired; ropes & knots application, knots efficiency, rope climbing, night operations, zoned approach and water rescue simulation. This course will be covered over a duration of about 9 hours in a single day. Prerequisites: The participants must have proficiency in handling the following :- • Patientassessment • Basic life support, CPR • Basicmedical&traumaemergencies • Haemorrhagecontrol • Spinalimmobilisation • Basic wound care • Patienttransportation The participants must qualify and need the following :- • Good physical condition • Comfortable in deep water while wearing a lifejacket • T-shirt with tough & flexible trousers • Tough sports shoes Water Safety Equipment :
